2008 in Review

Another golf season has come and gone. As I reflect on the turf management progress I must say it is satisfying to see the cumulative effects of four years of high quality inputs (both organic & synthetic fertilizers) combined with numerous beneficial cultural practices. Dense turf with deep roots bodes well for future conditions as Traditions Golf Maintenance moves toward the 2009 season.

Poulty compost is applied to the fairways at 1 ton/acre provides 1 lb of nitrogen, 2.5 lbs of phosphorus, and 2 lbs of potassium(40 tons total). This organic fertilizer also provides 6.5 lbs of high quality calcium.
